Installation of TLC Visualizer camera

To use the Baumer camera with your computer, you have to install the Baumer-specific driver for your FireWire card (OHCI driver) as well as the Baumer driver for the Camera (Camera driver) itself.

Warning

If the driver installed is not the correct one, CAMAG cannot guarantee correct functioning of the camera.

OHCI driver installation

  • Open Device Manager, check for IEEE1394 host controller, right click on the entry representing the controller connected to your camera and select Update Driver Software

  • Do not allow Windows to search automatically for drivers. Manually search on the visionCATS CD for the correct driver.

  • Choose Choose from a list of driver.

  • Make sure the compatible hardware checkbox is active.

  • Use Have Disc to search the visionCATS disc.

  • Choose your format (x64 for 64 bit).

  • Choose OHCI.

  • Choose the respective chip set.

Warning

If the chip set your computer is using is not listed, do not install it. Change the FireWire card to a product with a supported chip set.

Camera driver installation

  • Connect the camera with the computer.

  • Do not accept any driver installation yet.

  • Open Device Manager, check for Baumer_Optronic&&Camera, right click on this device and select Update Driver Software.

  • Do not allow Windows to search automatically for drivers. Manually search on the visionCATS CD for the correct driver.

  • Choose Choose from a list of driver.

  • Browse the visionCATS disc for the correct driver and install it.

  • Restart your pc.

If the TLC Visualizer is not recognized by visionCATS check the following:

  • Is the instrument switched on?

  • Is the camera (FireWire) and the TLC Visualizer (serial) connected with the pc?

  • Is the green light at the camera on?

  • Is the firmware of camera and TLC Visualizer up to date?

Configuration for Windows 10

The TLC Visualizer camera has some compatibility issues with Windows 10. For avoiding them you need to configure the PC:

  • Open Power Options

  • Click on Choose what the power button does on the left menu

  • If needed, click on Change settings that are currently unavailable

  • Uncheck Turn on fast startup

Important

If you get a blue screen when capturing image with TLC Visualizer, fast startup may again be activated. Please do the above configuration.
