Export of data

visionCATS offers a lot of ways to export data:

The data export functions presented here are done in the CSV format, which can be opened or used in spreadsheet and/or computing software.

Important

Exported data use the , character as separator, and characters are duplicated to prevent escape issues. Depending on the language of your operating system, some software, like Microsoft Excel, may need to be configured in order to correctly parse the CSV files generated from visionCATS.

Peaks table export

You can export the peaks in the Integration tab by clicking on the button exportpeaks. The function always exports the currently detected peaks of the currently selected step/wavelength(s)/track(s) and for the currently configured integration parameters.

The exported fields are the ones displayed in the peak table, and the exported CSV file contains the same header metadata as the Integrated profiles export Only with Export data option.

A similar peak table export is available in Profile comparison.

Substance assignment export

The Substance assignment export is similar to the peaks table export, but it only exports the peaks assigned to a substance.

Evaluation results export

The evaluation’s Results also contains a CSV export function for each available mode (default, related substances, reproducibility and limit test).

Profile data export Only with Export data option

Exporting the selected profile data (single or multi-track, single or multi-wavelength) is possible for Scanner profiles and for profiles generated from a TLC Visualizer/TLC Visualizer 2 image.

The data are ordered by wavelength, by track and then by 𝑅ꜰ position.

The following properties are exported:

  • Wavelength: wavelength or illumination of the track (not available in Manual Control)

  • TrackNumber: track number

  • RfValue: 𝑅ꜰ position

  • AU: value (luminance, absorption or fluorescence) measured by a Scanner instrument, or average value of the (R,G,B) channels for profiles generated from a TLC Visualizer/TLC Visualizer 2 image

  • R: Red channel (only for profiles generated from a TLC Visualizer/TLC Visualizer 2 image)(not available in Manual Control)

  • G: Green channel (only for profiles generated from a TLC Visualizer/TLC Visualizer 2 image)(not available in Manual Control)

  • B: Blue channel (only for profiles generated from a TLC Visualizer/TLC Visualizer 2 image)(not available in Manual Control)

Raw profiles export Only with Export data option

You can export the raw profiles in Data View and in the Manual Control part of a Scanner instrument with the button exportprofiles.

Integrated profiles export Only with Export data option

The data are exported with the application of the parameters currently set (all integration parameters, selected step, wavelengths/illuminations and track(s)). The exported CSV file contains the following header metadata, separated by an empty line:

  • The plate layout parameters of the current analysis,

  • The Track Assignment with track number, vial, description, volume and application type,

  • The integration parameters defined.

You can export the integrated profiles in Integration with the button exportprofiles , in the expanded part of the Profiles viewer toolbar.

Comparison profiles export Only with Export data option

The CSV export in Profile comparison, Toolbar also exports profile data with the application of the current integration parameters, but:

  • The analysis’ header metadata is repeated for each analysis concerned

  • The Profile selection data grids with the following fields

    • Reference: indicates whether the track is in the reference or the samples list

    • Position: indicates the displayed position in the comparison

    • Analysis: analysis name (useful to link the track with the analysis it comes from)

    • Tr.: track number in the source analysis

    • Step: the step selected

    • Wavelength: the wavelength/illumination selected

  • The profile data is presented with Reference/Position information instead of Wavelength/TrackNumber to follow the display in the comparison’s profile view.

Spectrum export Only with Export data option

Analysis spectrum data export Only with Export data option

The spectrum data export is available in Manual Control tab of a Scanner instrument and in the Data tab.

Following properties are exported:

  • Substance: substance name

  • Track: track number

  • 𝑅ꜰ: 𝑅ꜰ position

  • Wavelength

  • Center : value measured by the Scanner at the center position

  • Leading : value measured by the Scanner at the leading (start) position (only available when purity is activated)

  • Trailing : value measured by the Scanner at the trailing (end) position (only available when purity is activated)

In the Data tab, the export inserts the following metadata at the beginning of the CSV file:

  • The plate layout parameters of the current analysis,

  • The Track Assignment with track number, vial, description, volume and application type,

  • The parameters of the spectrum scan step.

Comparison spectrum export Only with Export data option

The CSV export in Spectrum comparison, Toolbar also exports spectrum data, but:

  • The analysis’ header metadata is repeated for each analysis concerned

  • The Spectrum definition selection data grids with the following fields:

    • Reference: indicates whether the track is in the reference or the samples list

    • Position: indicates the displayed position in the comparison

    • Analysis: analysis name (useful to link the track with the analysis it comes from)

    • Step: the spectrum scan step name in the original analysis

    • Substance: the substance name of the spectrum item

    • 𝑅ꜰ: the 𝑅ꜰ range of the substance in the original step

  • The spectrum data itself is:

    • presented with Reference/Position information instead of Substance/Track to follow the display in the comparison’s profile view

    • presented for each displayed track (Track field).
